Filing a notice
If you believe content on arousechat infringes your copyright, send a written notice that includes:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed (or a representative list, if there are several);
- identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it, such as a link or the character name and share link;
- your name, address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Incomplete notices may delay our response. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
What we do
When we receive a valid notice, we remove or disable access to the material, notify the user who posted it, and give them a copy of the notice.
Filing a counter-notice
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to our designated agent that includes:
- your physical or electronic signature;
- identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the US, any district in which arousechat may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.
When we receive a valid counter-notice, we forward it to the person who filed the original notice. We may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless they tell us they have filed a court action to restrain the alleged infringement.
Repeat infringers
We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are the subject of repeated valid infringement notices. We may also restrict or terminate accounts at our discretion to protect rights holders.
Private content
Most content on arousechat is private to the user who created it. We review private content only as needed to act on a notice.
